Former Wynnum Hospital – 150 Whites Rd, Lota

In mid-2023, the decommissioned Wynnum Hospital facility was removed to make way for Winnam Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islanders Corporation’s (WATSIC) new residential aged care facility. This project saw non-friable asbestos removed safely by our qualified team, evidenced by independent hygienist conducted air monitoring throughout the works. Abyss Demolition met high standards of delivery on quality, safety and environmental measures. To meet high environmental standards, Abyss salvaged two demountable buildings and ensured more than eighty percent of material from site was recycled. Meanwhile, unaffected trees and remaining structures were suitably protected to meet environmental policies and procedures.
