Infrastructure Demolition
Abyss Demolition regularly
completes Infrastructure Demolition Projects for government
departments, the defence force and project management companies.
Our previous work has included demolition works around railways and
train stations, demolition to enable new roads and highways,
schools and hospitals.
In 2014 Abyss has completed the
following infrastructure projects;
- Several projects at the RAAF Base
at Amberley which has included friable asbestos removal,
non-friable asbestos removal and demolition works.
- Thistlethwaite Bridge in the
Lockyer Valley. This bridge demolition will make way for the
construction of a new bridge after the old one sustained damage in
the 2011 and 2013 floods.
- Several schools across the
Brisbane and Gold Coast regions. These asbestos removal and
demolition works enable refurbishment of existing school facilities
and building of new school buildings.
- Demolition at the Ayr Hospital.
Abyss removed asbestos from and demolished the old nursing home
from within the grounds of Ayr Hospital.
In 2015 Abyss has
successfully completed the bridge demolition at the Pumicestone Rd
overpass on the Bruce Highway. These works were part of the
Pumicestone Rd interchange upgrade.
Infrastructure demolition projects
often involve a tight schedule, highly technical specifications and
can cause disruptions to the community. Abyss works with all our
clients to ensure that these types of challenges are dealt with
effectively and efficiently.
