Below are some examples of the more complex and noteworthy demolition and asbestos removal projects we have undertaken.
Abyss Demolition performed the asbestos removal and demolition of two multi-storey buildings at QUT Kelvin Grove and the bulk earthworks on completion. The entire project was completed while the remaining university facilities remained functioning.

Abyss Demolition demolished several buildings on this site to make way for the new Grand Central development. This project required the co-ordination and management of vehicles accessing the site to minimise disruption to the businesses and residents in the surrounding busy streets.

Abyss demolished the Aged Care building within the grounds of the Ayr Hospital.
Abyss Demolition recently removed and disposed of a fire damaged dry cleaning building on Stradbroke Island. Due to the asbestos contamination, a chartered barge was required to transport the demolition waste back to the main land to be disposed of at a licenced landfill facility.

This project involved the demolition of silos that were up to 25 meters high. Demolishing a silo constructed from cement creates a high level of dust. Abyss used their DustBoss units to control the dust from the silo demolition. This was far more efficient at dampening down dust particles than then conventional method of using a hose.
Both of these redundant sugar mills had to be demolished carefully to ensure no damage was sustained by the adjoining items that remained functioning.
This project involved both friable and non-friable asbestos removal from the buildings on the school site. All buildings, including single and multi-storey buildings, were demolished and removed leaving a clear site for the re-build.
